Calatheas come in numerous variations, the Calathea veitchiana ‘Medallion’ (Medallion calathea), Calathea lancifolia (Rattlesnake calathea), and the Calathea ornata (Pinstripe calathea), are some of the most popular species. Their colorful leaf markings make Prayer Plants extremely popular as houseplants. They also have the unique ability to raise their leaves at night and lower their leaves during the day, thus giving way to their name, Prayer Plants.
